The night is run with TakeOut Comedy. An open mic means the line-up is not fixed: regulars who work the same five minutes week after week, people trying material for the first time, and the occasional comic passing through the city. Some sets land, some do not, and that is the format working as intended.
The second floor is a room built for this: a stage, a red curtain, a backline and its own bar, separate from the restaurant below. High tables face the stage, so the room fills from the front instead of scattering. Dinner downstairs before the show works; the kitchen and the bar are open either side of it.
English-language comedy turns up in Shenzhen as one-off shows, a touring act in a rented room, a bar that tries it once. A night that runs every single week, in a room with a real stage, is another matter. This is that night, and as far as anyone here knows it is the only one in the city.
Wednesday to Sunday, Soul Blend Duo plays the terrace downstairs from 20:00.
